The 2020 Boating Season is Almost Upon Us
Introduction
I am sure that you were all looking forward to the coming season after a long, wet and windy winter.
The Ladies Lunch at the Restaurant Bar and Grill and Winter Lunch at the Kip Hotel were both well attended and enjoyable with both venues serving us well.
I wish to thank Lyn, Douglas and Rita for arranging the Ladies lunch.
In addition I would like to thank the Flag Officers, Stewards and members for their much valued assistance and support over the past year.
Other News
In February we received the sad news of the passing of Timothy (Timmy) Burke.
He was Founder Member of our Northern Ireland Group and has supported the Club faithfully over very many years.
On the 16th February 2020 we received the sad news of the passing of Eric Dyer (Fuzzy Logic) whilst away with Carol in Tenerife.
Carol would like to thank the Flag Officers, Stewards, Members and Friends of RSMYC for their sympathy, support and flowers at this very sad time. Eric was a very genuine and kind man and will be missed by all.
Unfortunately we all find ourselves under the threat of the Covid 19 virus and the associated disruption and chaos that is already impacting on all of us, together with the uncertainty of any legislative restrictions that the government may impose.
This uncertainty has left us in a difficult position and as a result, we are making significant changes to our plans for the 2020 AGM and Muster Events. Below are set our original intentions.
I regretfully notify you that the AGM will not be held on the scheduled date and together with The Secretary we are looking to appoint the incoming Flag Officers by email voting to facilitate continuity. We will look at holding an AGM social gathering at a later date
The opening muster scheduled for Largs is cancelled and once again we will look at rescheduling as soon as it is possible.
The Rhu, Anchoring, Tarbert and Troon musters will be subject confirmation closer to the due date.
