DESCRIPTION:Cantilena Festival on Islay is a unique and established music festival which has been taking place on the beautiful Scottish Isle of Islay for over 10 years. \nEach year\, a group of world-class musicians travel to Islay to perform an ever evolving repertoire from the world of classical music. Cantilena Festival on Islay aims to develop new and specific sounds and styles of playing\, both corporate and individual\, in an atmosphere and environment away from the pressures of a professional musician’s life. The professionals involved in Cantilena Festival on Islay are driven by a powerful desire to share their ideas and passionate love of music-making with the emerging generation. Each year the professionals are joined by one or more young musicians who benefit greatly from the opportunity of working alongside more experienced players.

DESCRIPTION:This is a fantastic weekend of seafood\, parades\, music and fun situated around Tarbert’s stunning natural harbour. \nThe harbour is lined with a variety of stalls operated by the local businesses. Head to the fisherman’s market to watch cookery demonstrations using the local seafood. \nOne of the highlights of the event is the crowning of the Seafood Festival Queen and her princesses after she has arrived in Tarbert by sea. This is followed by the festival procession of floats led by the seafood queen and Mid Argyll Pipe Band. \nTraditionally Sunday is a great family day out with live music and lots to entertain the kids and adults.
