The Hazard Of Creels

More information on poorly marked creels
Having been contacted recently by the Cruising Association with regards to their campaign “Lobster Pots and Small Craft Safety” in which they were seeking signatures for a petition, I thought I would give you all an update and some further information. Having now talked to both the Cruising Association and the RYA I have some more information on the issue.
I sent both the CA and RYA links to the creel video that I shot during the summer on Loch Fyne and have had a response from both.
The Cruising Association Has reached it’s goal of 10000 signatures. This landmark means the the Government has to respond in writing to the CA with regards to the subject. I will bring you the result of that response when it becomes available to me. I have given them permission to re-link this video on their social media outlets should they feel it could help.
The RYA has passed it onto their Legal and Government Affairs team and explained to me that they have recently re-launched their Fishing gear entanglement reporting service. They are looking to collate data for this campaign and sent me a link to the reporting system. Fishing Gear Incident Reporting Form
If you have an incident or witness one this is where you go to report it.
