The 2019 Boating Season Is Upon Us!!
Northern Ireland Dinner
The Northern Ireland Dinner was attended by Douglas Atkinson, unfortunately the Commodore was unable to attend as he was recovering from surgery and apologies were presented for Rita and Norman Hollywood as Rita had suffered injuries following a fall.
AGM and Prize Giving
The meeting was held at The Chartroom, Kip Marina on Thursday 14th March 2019.
After the business Flag Officers were confirmed for the year.
The Honorary Commodore thanked the Commodore for his efforts and wished the new Flag Officers and Committee all success and assured them of total support from the Club.

Stewards Committee – Gavin Watt (PC), Iain Anderson, John Ewart, David Gillies, Charles Harrigan, Norman Hollywood, Rick Mackay, David Pearson, Barry Rodger, Jamie Scott, Stuart Scott, Andrew Thompson (NI).
Rankine Agnew stood down from the stewards’ committee after many years of service and I would personally like to thank Rankine for his support of the club. George Bryson, Andy Steven, Scott McKenzie also stood down and our thanks go to them for their service.
Secretary/Treasurer – Rita Hollywood agreed to remain. Once again, thank you Rita.
Auditor – Gavin Watt and Ian Cameron agreed to act as auditors.

Rita Hollywood presented a gift voucher to Lyn White in recognition of her support to the Commodore
Our speaker this year was Dave Hewitt, Deputy Manger at Largs Yacht Haven.
Dave gave an informative talk on his role with Largs Inshore Lifeboat and his years of service with them. He described all the various classes of lifeboats and reviewed their particular functions and then discussed safety and emergency practices. He concluded with a question and answer session.
A very informative presentation, Thank you Dave.
The Chartroom then served a most enjoyable buffet and this gave opportunity for members to mingle.
DATES FOR 2019
Our first muster is now only a few days away and is being held at Rhu, so for your information here are the planned muster dates
Rhu Muster – 3rd, 4th and 5th May
Those wishing to attend should contact the Officer of the Day, Rear Commodore Douglas Atkinson, by completing the form that has been sent previously.
Please reply to douglasfatkinson@btinternet.com. On arrival you can contact Douglas on channel 77 for berthing instructions.
We would appreciate the booking form by return. In the event of a bad weather forecast we will contact you by e-mail or phone to advise you of our alternative arrangements.
Friday 3rd May
There are no formal arrangements for Friday night. As has become custom, the evening will start and finish with the usual inter-boat hospitality.
Saturday 4th May
The morning free of any formal activities so feel free to relax, mingle with fellow members and enjoy yourselves.
In the afternoon we will have the usual tea and cakes followed by games and/or a quiz (Weather dependant)
On Saturday evening the intention is to have dinner at the nearby Indian restaurant and Douglas Atkinson is in the process of arranging this. I am sure that the evening will finish with the usual inter-boat hospitality.
Sunday 5th May
In the morning, the Commodore, assisted by Lyn and Stewards will serve bacon and sausage sandwiches plus tea and coffee. (Anyone wishing to help will be appreciated)
The food has been kindly donated by Jamie and Janet Scott
It is a holiday weekend so there will be opportunity to recover, relax, and stay over until Monday or return to your homeports.
Monday 6th May
Most members will probably return to their homeport.
Midsummer Muster 14th, 15th & 16th June – Holy Loch
Details and booking forms to follow nearer the date.
Fancy Dress Muster 9th 10th & 11th August – Tarbert
The theme for this year is ‘Rock and Roll’
Details and booking forms to follow nearer the date.
Closing Muster 13th, 14th & 15th September – Rothesay
Dinner will be at the Kingarth Hotel. Booking forms to follow nearer the date.
