Report from Rhu Muster – May 2024
We had 15 club boats in attendance and the weather was on our side for the weekend. Boats arrived at various times on the Friday and once settled in there was a Commodores drink reception in the marina marquee with good chat and a catch up with those who had not seen each other for a while. The evening was capped off with a fine display of the Aurora Borealis above Gare Loch which many had never seen before.
On Saturday afternoon we had a guided tour of the Helensburgh Lifeboat Station and boat where we were given a talk about the good work the crew and support team do. After the tour we had collection and raised well over £100.00 which was handed over to the station.
Later in the afternoon we had afternoon tea with the usual goodies.
The evening consisted of a BBQ cooked by the Flag Officers followed by a pub style quiz and some liquid refreshment.
Sunday morning consisted of breakfast rolls cooked by the Flag Officers.
Special thanks to Jamie Scott for providing the sausages and Alex Rae for letting us use his BBQ and gazebo.
After the breakfast we said our goodbyes and made way back to our home ports.
