Cowal Highland Gathering is the world’s most spectacular Highland gathering. Every year around 23,000 people come to the event to soak up the unique, friendly atmosphere and enjoy the spectacle.

Cowal Highand Gathering is home to the World Highland Dancing Championships and competitors travel from all four corners of the globe to compete for the titles of Junior, Juvenile and Adult World Champion.

Cowal Highland Gathering also has the oldest pipe band trophies and there’s fierce competition as bands battle to win the Argyll Shield.

You’ll also find heavy athletes throwing the Cowal stone (twice the size of an ordinary shot putt), or tossing the Tilhill caber in an attempt to get the perfect ’12 o’clock’.
