Northern Ireland Dinner
The Northern Ireland Dinner had to be cancelled due to a heavy fall of snow making travel for RSMYC members difficult, dangerous and in some cases impossible. The Dinner will be rearranged and members advised accordingly.
AGM and Prize Giving
The meeting was held at The Chartroom, Kip Marina on Thursday 15th March 2018.
After the business we had the pleasure of confirming our Flag Officers for the year. The Honorary Commodore wished the new Flag Officers and Committee all success and assured them of total support from the Club.

Janet Cameron stood down from the stewards’ committee after three year’s service and I would personally like to thank Janet for all her efforts.
Secretary/Treasurer Rita Hollywood agreed to remain. Thank you Rita.
Auditor Gavin Watt and Ian Cameron agreed to act as auditors.

Turley Cup – John Cochrane on Kiwi
Manson Distance Trophy – Terry Steele on Spirit
Commodore’s Cup – Douglas Atkinson
The Commodore’s Cup being awarded to Douglas in appreciation of his efforts In the development of the new club website.
The Past Commodore, Gavin Watt, explained that both the Turley Cup and Manson Distance Trophy had been awarded to Northern Ireland members and unfortunately due to adverse weather the presentation had not taken place.
The Commodore then presented engraved glasses on behalf of the club to Gavin Watt in recognition of his service and efforts.
Lyn White presenting flowers to Lorraine Wheeler in recognition and thanks for the support that she had given to Gavin throughout his time in office.
Norman Hollywood then entertained us with an excellent presentation titled:
“Thinking Outside The Box”
Perhaps something we should all consider more frequently
The Chartroom then served a most enjoyable buffet.
The 2018 Boating Season is Now Here
We hope that you are all looking forward to an enjoyable summer.
Our first muster is now only a couple of weeks away and is being held at Rhu, so for your information here are the planned muster dates
Rhu Muster – 4th, 5th & 6th May
Those wishing to attend should contact the Officer of the Day, Rear Commodore Douglas Atkinson, by completing the form that has been sent as a separate attachment.

Friday 4th May
There are no formal arrangements for Friday night. As has become custom, the evening will start and finish with the usual inter-boat hospitality.
The fish suppers at the marina café are very good, Ordering is essential!
Saturday 5th May
The morning free of any formal activities so feel free to relax, mingle with fellow members and enjoy yourselves. In the afternoon we will have the usual tea and cakes followed by games and/or a quiz (Weather dependant)
On Saturday evening there is no pre-arranged dinner, but there are excellent local restaurants for those wishing to eat out or alternatively eat on board. As has become custom, the evening will finish with the usual inter-boat hospitality.
Sunday 6th May
The Commodore, assisted by Lyn will serve bacon and sausage sandwiches plus tea and coffee. Anyone wishing to help will be appreciated. Relax, recover, and stay over until Monday or return to your homeports.
Monday 7th May
No organised activities, most members will probably be returning home.
Anchoring Muster 26th, 27th & 28th May
Lochgoilhead – weather permitting.

Midsummer Muster 15th, 16th & 17th June – Campbeltown

Fancy Dress Muster 3rd, 4th & 5th August – Tarbert
The theme for this year will be announced soon. Due to popular demand, we will book the same caterers as last year. More details and booking forms to follow nearer the date.
Closing Muster 7th, 8th & 9th September – Rothesay
Dinner will be at the Kingarth Hotel. Booking forms to follow nearer the date.
