July Newsletter 2025

Hi everyone and welcome to the July 2025 newsletter, I hope that you are getting good use of your boat.

On behalf of The Flag Officers, Stewards and members and friends of the club we wish John and Lyn a speedy recovery after their recent ordeal. Get well soon.

Rhu Muster

Second muster of the 2025 season was held at Rhu with 15 boats attending and reasonable weather for the whole weekend. Most boats arrived at various times on the Friday with a few arriving on Saturday morning. On Friday afternoon/evening a naval based cocktail party was held on the pontoon hosted by Alex and Audrey (Graffiti) a great time was had by all although I don’t think Monty the dog was too impressed. Saturday morning was our own time with many venturing into Helensburgh for a coffee and look around the shops and flag officers collected the BBQ food from the butchers. Later in the day we had afternoon tea in the marquee with some members moving to the Rhu Inn for a few refreshments.

The evening consisted of a buffet BBQ cooked by the flag officers. The wind picked up a bit and the temperature dropped so all retired back to the pontoons. Sunday morning consisted of breakfast rolls again prepared by the flag officers. After the breakfast we said our goodbyes and made way back to our home ports.

Special thanks to:
Alex and Audrey for the cocktail party and providing the BBQ and gazebo
Jamie Scott for providing his BBQ
Nicola Scott who kindly took the food in her car from the butcher to the marina.
