March 2022
Hello all and welcome to this newsletter for March 2022.
Winter Lunch
On Sunday 27th Feb we held the delayed Winter Lunch at the Inverkip Hotel. We had 24 members attend for the lunch and it was great to catch up with some of you before the upcoming AGM and the new season commences. The food was excellent once again and we were very well looked after by the hotel as always. I am incredibly pleased that we took the decision to delay the lunch a month rather than cancelling it when Covid was threatening again at the beginning of the year.
Musters
The musters for 2022 have now been planned. The current plan is as follows :-
May 07th/08th – Holy Loch muster
June 11th/12th – Troon muster
August 13th/14th – Tarbert muster
Sept 10th/11th – Rhu muster
Further details for all of these musters will be sent out nearer the time plus any details for a possible anchoring muster, West coast muster or any other impromptu musters will also be sent out accordingly by the Flag officers.
Membership booklet
It is the clubs intention to reprint and issue the Membership booklet after the AGM. If there is any changes to your current details please email the secretary at info@rsmyc.org with the changes asap.
RSMYC Subscription Fees
The subscription fees have not been adjusted for many years now and we all believe they still represent very good value so the decision has been taken that the fees will remain the same as last year.
AGM
The AGM will be held on Thursday 17th March @ The Chartroom, Inverkip Marina. The AGM will commence at 7.15pm. Upon completion of the AGM there will be a short presentation on the history and future of the Forth & Clyde canal followed by a buffet and time to mingle with other members. I hope to see many of you at the AGM.
EU Customs Changes
As from 01st January 2022 all leisure boats entering the EU (Eg. Southern Ireland) from the UK or Northern Ireland will be required to complete a ‘clearance inwards’ and a ‘clearance outwards’ report for their journey. Full details can be found on the internet by searching for HMRC Notice 8.
I don’t have anymore news for now but I am pleased to say that all is looking promising for a full year of musters in 2022 and I look forward to seeing many of you out on the water in the coming months.
Best regards,
Matthew Hill
