September Newsletter 2025

Hi everyone and welcome to the September 2025 newsletter, I trust you have a good season as it now near then end.

Tarbert Muster

60th Ian

Third muster of the 2025 season was held at Tarbert with 14 boats attending and reasonable weather for the whole weekend. Boats arrived at various times on the Thursday onwards. On Friday evening we had food from The Silver Darlings and Commodore’s drinks in the marquee. Saturday morning was our own time to have wander around the village. Later in the day we had the fancy dress afternoon tea in the marquee, we also had a special surprise visit from The Tarbert Pipe Band who played various tunes while members made donations to the band. Later some members moved in full fancy dress on to the Cornerhouse for a few refreshments.

The evening consisted of a BBQ followed by a DJ when we also managed to help celebrate Ian Telfer getting to bus pass age, a good time was had by all and we retired back to the boats.

Sunday morning consisted of hot drinks and breakfast rolls prepared by the flag officers.

After the breakfast we said our goodbyes and made way back to our home ports.

Special thanks to:

Ian and Alison Telfer for providing the sausages and bacon

Douglas and Patricia Slight for the ice cream

Rothesay Muster

Final muster of the 2025 season was held at Rothesay with 7 boats and 1 car attending again the weather was kind to us. Friday night was inter boat hospitality with some venturing ashore for dinner or to the pub for a beer or two. We also had another big birthday on the Friday as Mandy Gillies also got her bus pass

Saturday morning was free time and, in the afternoon, there was a putting completion:

Winners – Jamie and Janet Scott

Holes in one – Sandra Ewart and Brenda Hill

Highest Score – Sandy and Toby grant

The evening consisted of dinner at the Victoria, where the food and service was excellent. Afterwards we headed into town where we headed to a new pub The Rabbie Burns and then The Taverna.

There was nothing arranged for the Sunday and boats left at their leisure some electing to stay longer as the weather declined in the afternoon.
