Tarbert Muster
Thank you to everyone who supported the Tarbert Muster and made it a very enjoyable and successful weekend. We had 19 club boats and 1 motor home attending. It was also great to see Past Commodore Colin and Steph McAusland in attendance. Most boats arrived throughout the day on Friday when there was the usual inter boat hospitality.
On Saturday morning we held a blindfold lifejacket competition. The idea was, could you put on your lifejacket quickly, in an emergency situation, in the dark. We had 12 couples taking part and everyone had great fun. The winners were John and Susan Davis (Jetstream Motorhome).
In the afternoon we had Tea and cakes in the marquee. Thanks to everyone who brought along goodies. We also had a music intros quiz and the winners were the Largs Mafia!!
We then all donned fancy dress with the theme this year being the letter H. The flag officers provided refreshments and DJ Nick had us all up dancing and parading our costumes. The winners of the fancy dress competition were Katie and Alison, The Herrings, who were Douglas’s crew on Paragon. The runners up were The Hairy Bikers, Iain and Catherine on Candi ably supported by Past Commodore Colin in his Harley Davison gear. Rick and Fiona Mackay received a special prize for the cross dressing!!.
A delicious 3 course meal was served by our caterers and then the dancing and chatting continued with DJ Nick until midnight. A few hardy souls then continued the inter boat hospitality until the small hours.
